Dunshaughlin & District Historical Society

The inaugural meeting of Dunshaughlin & District Society took place on Wednesday night 9th July 2008 in the meeting room at Dunshaughlin Church. There were 22 people at the meeting which was chaired by Michael Kenny. It was agreed that the society meet once a month on the first Wednesday at 8.30pm in the temporary parish meeting room. The new committee is as follows: Chairman- Michael Kenny, Secretary- Patricia Lynch, Treasurer- Evelyn Neary.

A souvenier Jubilee Commemorative Booklet has recently been published. It is a memento of the Jubilee Year and also contains snippets of information about the history of the parish. It is available in the parish shop, in Supervalu, or from any member of the Parish Council. Good value at only €10.

Heritage and History in our Parish:

In December 2005, the Parish Pastoral Council commissioned a catalogue of all historical records and items of local heritage.






The above catalogue has been compiled as a .pdf document. It contains a list of published works, primary and secondary sources, photographic materials and recordings. All relate to the history of the parish.
