Birdwatch Meath: We have two upcoming events. Both will be focused on bogs and their importance in relation to Meath’s ecology. The first of these events is a talk in Ballivor on Monday the 24th April. This will be followed by a walk in the Girley Bog on the 29th April. Bog biodiversity and birdlife A talk by David Fallon, ecologist with Bord na Mona. Ballivor Bog is the main site of Bord na Mona activities in Meath. David will explain the ecology of peatland areas and how this is critical to inform how these lands can be rehabilitated into the future. Venue: Ballivor Community Centre Ballivor, Date: Monday 24th April Time: 7:30pm -10pm Birdlife at Girley Bog.
